Local technology leader and AI advocate Rene Clayton launched a new initiative on June 1 to assist St. Petersburg small businesses in adapting to the growing influence of artificial intelligence in the economy.
The effort is designed to help local entrepreneurs overcome barriers such as compliance risks, technical complexity, and data privacy concerns that can make it difficult for smaller companies to implement advanced automation. The initiative will focus on providing secure, high-governance AI strategies tailored for small and mid-sized businesses.
“AI shouldn’t just be a luxury for enterprise-level corporations,” said Clayton. “Our goal is to bring practical, security-first ‘Human-in-the-loop’ AI frameworks directly to the St. Pete business community so they can confidently scale, optimize workflows, and build measurable value without sacrificing data integrity or compliance.”
The St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce serves as a primary organization for the region’s business community and offers resources including membership benefits, leadership training, advocacy, events, and community initiatives to support local enterprises, according to the official website. The Chamber focuses on promoting economic growth and community vitality across the area.
