Christian Cabina and Corey Hodierne of Eckerd College were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District baseball team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon, June 2.

The 2026 Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize student-athletes for combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA.

Cabina, a first baseman from Valrico, Florida, graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He was a First Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection and earned All-Region honors from NCBWA, ABCA and D2CCA. Cabina was second on the Tritons with a .378 batting average and led the conference in home runs with 12. He ranked among the top ten in seven statistical categories within the conference.

Hodierne is a junior outfielder from Land O’Lakes, Florida studying Business Administration at Eckerd. He also received First Team All-SSC honors along with three regional accolades from NCBWA, ABCA and D2CCA. Hodierne was included on the SSC’s All-Defensive Team. He led Eckerd in batting average at .394 with 10 doubles and 48 runs batted in. He stole 36 bases out of 39 attempts while striking out only 15 times over 188 at-bats. Hodierne finished top ten in nine statistical categories, including first place for steals.

Both Cabina and Hodierne will advance to consideration for Academic All-American recognition.
