City advises caution as traffic signal repairs continue

As the city works towards recovery with ongoing power restoration, some traffic signal repairs may be delayed until damaged equipment is replaced. It could take days or weeks for conditions to return to normal at affected intersections.

Drivers are advised to treat these intersections as four-way stops. The first vehicle to stop completely should proceed first. If two vehicles arrive simultaneously, the one on the right has the right of way. When facing each other, a left-turning vehicle yields to one going straight. Pedestrians always have priority.

In cases where traffic signals are flashing due to malfunctions but still powered, drivers must adhere to specific guidelines. A flashing red light requires a complete stop before proceeding cautiously when clear. A flashing yellow light calls for cautious approach and stopping if necessary.

Several intersections have been listed with expected repair dates or marked TBD (to be determined), including Dr. MLK Jr. St N & 83rd Ave N and 4th St S & 22nd Ave S scheduled for October 2nd repairs.
