The Cordova Inn in St. Petersburg opened a significant hotel addition on April 16, offering guests 65 new rooms that expand the original historic inn to a total of 95 rooms.

The expansion brings more lodging options to downtown St. Petersburg, an area where business and leisure travelers seek accommodations within walking distance of shops, restaurants, offices, and museums. The move is expected to contribute to local economic growth and community vitality—a goal supported by organizations such as the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, which promotes prosperity for businesses and residents alike.

According to the announcement, the first stage of completion includes four floors of guest rooms ranging from 310 to 630 square feet each, plus three penthouse units measuring about 750 square feet on the top floor designed for families. Plans are underway for a restaurant and rooftop bar set to open later this year.

New Hotel Collection owns Cordova Inn and collaborated with Reno Boyd Building Company and Place Architecture on the addition since work began in 2023. The adjacent historic building from 1921 remained open throughout construction; its popular bar, The Scott, continues serving Hogg Batch coffee during the day and cocktails at night.

“We are thrilled to give downtown St. Petersburg visitors another great option for a high-quality hotel stay, as we can now cater to people looking for newer, more spacious space,” said Tommy Del Zoppo, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of New Hotel Collection. “The new Cordova gives our guests a home base to explore all the great things our city has to offer.”

As part of its mission in supporting local enterprises through resources like membership benefits and advocacy programs, the Chamber serves as a primary organization for businesses in the region. It also hosts events that aid residents while backing initiatives designed for economic prosperity.Since its name change in 1920, it has played an important role as a leading business entity across St. Petersburg.
