Five student-athletes from the Eckerd College softball program were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on May 26. Brandilyn Reymer, Hannah Taylor, Lex Difato, Gracie Ciccarello, and Mia Hernandez received recognition for their combined performances in athletics and academics.
The 2026 Academic All-District softball teams honor top student-athletes across four divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. The program recognizes both on-field achievements and classroom excellence.
Brandilyn Reymer graduated with a degree in Human Development. She was a Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection and earned All-Region honors from both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and D2CCA. Reymer recorded a 21-8 pitching record with a 1.79 ERA this season, setting a program record with 248 strikeouts. She led the Sunshine State Conference in strikeouts and innings pitched while ranking among conference leaders in several other categories. Reymer was honored as SSC Pitcher of the Week six times this year and will advance to the Academic All-America voting ballot.
Lex Difato started all 46 games for Eckerd as an outfielder, leading her team with a .429 batting average. She set a single-season school record by scoring 58 runs and ranked second in conference batting average as well as stolen bases with 34 steals. Difato is studying Business at Eckerd College and will also move forward to Academic All-America consideration.
Hannah Taylor finished her senior season ranked second on her team with a .425 batting average while setting single-season school records for doubles (21), home runs (12), and RBI (66). A Psychology graduate, Taylor was named First Team All-SSC as well as an NFCA/D2CCA All-Region recipient; she too advances to further academic recognition.
Gracie Ciccarello appeared in all games for Eckerd as an infielder while majoring in Business; Mia Hernandez started most games she played as an outfielder while studying Psychology at Eckerd College.
Eckerd College Tritons participate in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports including basketball, golf, sailing, soccer, tennis, volleyball, softball, rowing and cross country within the Sunshine State Conference; they promote cultural values through discipline and competition; offer athletic facilities such as McArthur Center; recognize athletes through awards like the Triton Award; maintain ties with the Presbyterian Church; and have celebrated milestones such as their Hall of Fame induction for baseball, all according to the official website.
