Jeff’s Bagel Run, a Central Florida bagel franchise, announced on May 21 that it will open a new shop at 2325 Ulmerton Road #1 in the Feather Sound Square retail plaza across from the Carillon Office Park. The new store will replace a former OB/GYN office and is set to feature limited indoor seating, according to plans submitted to the City of St. Pete.
The expansion highlights ongoing growth for Jeff’s Bagel Run as it continues its presence across Tampa Bay. The company has built its reputation on boiled-and-baked bagels made throughout the day using just five ingredients: flour, water, salt, malt, and yeast. Its menu features both classic New York-style options such as plain and everything bagels as well as creative flavors like Cacio e Pepe and Lemon Blueberry.
Local franchisee Tony Trunzo will oversee renovations of the 1,320-square-foot storefront into a bagel shop. In addition to traditional cream cheese offerings like plain and chive onion, customers can expect more unconventional spreads such as Roasted Jalapeño and Brown Sugar Cinnamon. Seasonal flavors are also available; one example is “Scoop Froggy Frog,” developed with Jeremiah’s Italian Ice.
The Feather Sound opening follows Jeff’s Bagel Run’s recent debut in South Tampa earlier this year and comes ahead of another planned location in Oldsmar. The company was founded by Jeff and Danielle Perera after moving to Central Florida in 2016 when they struggled to find New York-style bagels locally. During the pandemic, Jeff Perera began delivering homemade bagels directly to friends and businesses before opening their first store in Ocoee.
Since then, Jeff’s Bagel Run has grown to operate 35 locations across several states including Florida, Texas, Georgia, and the Carolinas. In 2024 it acquired Otus Coffee which now supplies beverages such as cold brews and specialty lattes at all stores.
St. Pete Rising functions as an independent news publication covering urban development through articles about local growth while providing resources like an events calendar for St. Petersburg residents who want information on downtown progress or community events according to the official website.
