The CMS assigned Oak Manor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center an overall rating of 4 out of 5, higher than the Florida nursing home average of 3.3.
Balanced Healthcare led Pinellas County nursing homes by size during the quarter with 299 beds, followed by Sabal Palms Health & Rehabilitation, which held 244 beds.
Oak Manor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center incurred $4,017 in fines and faced one penalty as of the first quarter of 2026.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the older adult population in the country is continuing to rise, while the number of people in younger age groups decreases. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans 65 and older increased by 13%, while those under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult population has surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 study estimates that nearly half of the nation’s older adults—close to 28 million people—will likely need some form of long-term services and support. More than one-third are projected to require nursing home care over time.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
