Pinellas County Schools celebrated student creativity at its fourth annual Student Film Festival, which took place on May 18 at the St. Petersburg College Seminole Campus.
The event highlighted the talents of students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, with a focus on encouraging unique perspectives through filmmaking. This year’s theme was “Reimagine Your World,” and students submitted works in categories such as animation, book trailers, comedy, digital responsibility, drama, instructional videos, music videos, public service announcements, podcasts and Adobe tools videos.
The festival was organized by the Office of Student Experience and the Library Media Department. Among this year’s winners were Cypress Woods Elementary for both their K-2 entry “The Magic Book” and their City of Ember Book Trailer in multiple categories. Other recognized schools included Anona Elementary for animation and Perkins Elementary for comedy and documentary work. The Secondary Best in Show went to a City of Ember Book Trailer produced by secondary-level students.
