Approximately 2,000 gallons of reclaimed water was discharged at the 100 block of Bay Point Dr. NE on May 25, according to a May 26 notification from city officials. The incident occurred due to a break in the water line.

Of the total amount released, about 150 gallons were contained onsite while approximately 50 gallons entered a nearby storm drain. The remaining discharge flowed into Coffee Pot Bayou. City officials said repairs will be made as soon as possible.

St. Petersburg has focused on fostering community engagement through principles of inclusivity, innovation and equitable policies, according to the official website.
