Cold night shelters will be available tonight, Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at various locations in St. Pete. The Homeless Leadership Alliance has collaborated with local shelters to provide individuals in need with a warm and safe place to sleep.
The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) is offering free bus rides to and from the cold night shelters from 5 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday. Riders must inform PSTA drivers that they are heading to a Pinellas Cold Night Shelter to ride without charge.
Shelters will accept guests until capacity is reached. Families with children are advised to call 2-1-1 for additional options.
Space in the shelters is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The following locations will serve as cold night shelters:
– Northwest Presbyterian Church: Located at 6330 54th Ave. N, open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., accessible via PSTA Route #75.
– Salvation Army: Situated at 1400 4th St. S, open from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., accessible via PSTA Route #4.
– Unitarian Universalist Church: Found at 100 Mirror Lake Dr. N, open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., accessible via PSTA Routes #18, #23 or #100X; note that this location requires the use of stairs.
– WestCare Turning Point: Located at 1801 5th Ave. N, open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., accessible via PSTA Route #9.
