The culinary scene in St. Pete-Clearwater received expanded recognition with the release of the latest MICHELIN Guide Florida selections on May 28. The updated list highlights both new and returning restaurants, reflecting what organizers describe as the area’s growing depth and diversity in dining experiences.
This year’s guide features two new additions: Elliott Aster, led by Chef Lee Wolen, and in between days, headed by Chef Justin Shwetzer, both located in St. Petersburg and now recognized as Recommended Restaurants. Several establishments have retained their Recommended designation: Fortu (Executive Chef Nathan Howey), IL Ritorno (Executive Chef David Benstock), Sushi Sho Rexley (Master Sushi Chef Rexley Kwok), all based in St. Petersburg, along with The Tides Market (Chef Jon Walker) in Safety Harbor.
Brian Lowack, President and CEO for Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, said, “Congratulations to the outstanding restaurants who were recognized today as our destination’s culinary culture continues to shine and gain even more recognition for our standout dining experiences.” He added, “Just as our residents take pride in welcoming visitors to the destination, our restaurateurs and chefs take pride in the culinary experiences they deliver to guests. We have seen demonstrable growth among visitors who are seeking out our dining scene as a reason to visit our destination, and we will continue to showcase our award-winning culinary excellence and amazing cultural experiences that help define our incredible beach culture.”
Visit St. Pete-Clearwater operates as a department of Pinellas County Government focused on promoting tourism through marketing initiatives designed to attract visitors and support economic growth across vibrant communities within Pinellas County; it manages multiple visitor information centers throughout the region while enhancing community well-being by fostering employment opportunities and hosting annual events such as the Besties awards recognizing local businesses—all while promoting 35 miles of award-winning sugar-white sand beaches, according to the organization’s official website.
