The St. Petersburg community is set to enjoy a day dedicated to arts and culture with the annual Free Museum Day on September 21, 2024. This event allows residents to visit various museums across the city without any admission fees, as part of an initiative to make art accessible to everyone.

Free Museum Day is organized by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, the City of St. Petersburg, and several cultural organizations in the area. While some museums offer free entry exclusively to Pinellas County or St. Pete residents, others require advance ticket reservations and identification for entry.

Participating institutions include The Dali Museum, which offers free gallery admission for Pinellas County residents who reserve tickets online in advance. Imagine Museum will manage entry through timed tickets to ensure a comfortable experience for visitors.

The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art will have limited walk-up tickets available on the event day, but reservations are recommended to guarantee admission. The Museum of Fine Arts also provides complimentary access for Pinellas County residents with valid ID.

Other participating venues include the Museum of Motherhood, located in Gallery Row at The Factory; the St. Petersburg Museum of History; and The Woodson African American Museum of Florida, which promises an exciting new exhibition and programs throughout the day.

For those planning their visit, transportation options such as SunRunner, Central Avenue Trolley, and Downtown Looper are available with schedules and stops listed on respective websites.

More information about downtown parking can be found at stpete.org/parking, while details about St. Pete’s arts scene are available at stpete.org/arts.
