During Hispanic Heritage Month, from September 15 to October 15, St. Petersburg celebrates the contributions and culture of its Hispanic community. A series of events and resources have been organized to support and honor this vibrant part of the city’s population.
One of the highlights is a celebration at Gladden Park Recreation Center on September 21, featuring activities for all ages, music, games, inflatables, and vendors. The event is free and open to the public with complimentary food for the first 300 attendees.
On the same day, Dance Flow Studios will offer free Latin dance classes at St. Pete Pier Plaza in the evening. For baseball fans, Tropicana Field will host Roberto Clemente Day on September 20 during a game between the Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. A special package includes seating in section 127 and supports Feeding Tampa Bay with a $5 donation.
USF St. Pete’s Office of Multicultural Affairs Programming Board and the Latin American Student Association will hold a brunch on September 26 to celebrate unity during Hispanic Heritage Month.
Creative Pinellas has partnered with Mi Gente Mi Pueblo for a film festival showcasing LatinX films on September 28 at The Auditorium in Largo. Additionally, an art exhibition celebrating cultural heritage will be held on October 5 at ArtsXchange.
Educational events include presentations on Hispanic-Latino culture at SPC Midtown on October 8 and cultural showcases at other campuses throughout early October.
The month-long celebration concludes with a performance by Dimas Sanchez and the Afro Latin Jazz Project presented by Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association on October 13 at Palladium Side Door.
In addition to these events, St. Petersburg provides ongoing resources for Spanish-speaking residents through somosstpete.org. This platform offers access to city services and information tailored for Spanish speakers.
The Hispanic Outreach Center remains committed to fostering strong families and community integration across Clearwater Countywide through various programs aimed at education and social engagement.
Meanwhile, The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Pinellas County continues its efforts to bolster Hispanic business communities throughout Florida by providing essential resources for growth and success.
