The City of St. Petersburg is organizing a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, providing residents with an opportunity to safely dispose of hazardous household products that should not be discarded in regular trash. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the SPC Allstate Center located at 3200 34th St. S.

Items that pose fire hazards or environmental concerns when placed in the trash will be collected during this event. These items include antifreeze, gas, household chemicals, oil, lawn and garden chemicals, mercury-containing devices, paint products, pool/spa products, rechargeable batteries, and signal flares.

Residents are encouraged to bring their hazardous waste directly to the collection site where trained professionals will ensure environmentally friendly disposal.

For further details on waste collection services provided by the city, residents can visit stpete.org/Collection.
