The City of St. Petersburg is inviting residents to participate in various boards and committees. The initiative seeks community involvement to enhance city governance and services.

The Advisory Commission on Aging, comprising 15 members, focuses on supporting programs for the elderly in St. Petersburg. Their goal is to ensure seniors have access to necessary resources for a safe and dignified life.

The Code Enforcement Board handles cases related to the city’s codes and ordinances. They conduct monthly hearings and provide legal findings after each case.

The Committee to Advocate for Persons with Impairments (CAPI) advises the City Council on disability issues, ensuring the rights and needs of persons with disabilities are addressed in city facilities, programs, and services.

A mix of City Council Members and private citizens make up the Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee. This group reviews funding applications for various grants aimed at public services, homelessness assistance, rental support, affordable housing, and capital improvements.

The Development Review Commission evaluates development proposals to ensure they comply with city regulations such as the Comprehensive Plan and zoning ordinances. They also review proposed modifications as part of their role as the Land Development Regulation Commission.

The Nuisance Abatement Board deals with properties involved in illegal activities. Their work helps reduce crime by encouraging property owners to prevent nuisance activities on their premises.
