The City of St. Petersburg has opened applications for Social Action Funding Grants, targeting social service agencies working to prevent or address homelessness. Agencies can apply for grants up to $100,000, with submissions due by Friday, June 20.

Priority for grant funding will be given to agencies servicing priority populations identified by the Pinellas Continuum of Care, including disproportionately represented minority groups, veterans, families with minor children, older adults aged 62 and above, chronic homeless households, and unaccompanied youth aged 18-24.

Eligible organizations may submit multiple applications for programs offering essential services. These services comprise storage unit provisions for homeless individuals, call centers aiding homelessness prevention or current homeless individuals, and funds designated for street outreach efforts.

A virtual Bidders/Technical Assistance Workshop is planned for Wednesday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom to aid the application process. Interested parties can find Zoom details, along with application forms and guidelines, on the city’s website at www.stpete.org/socialactionfunding. Participants are encouraged to have access to the application and its guidelines during the workshop.

Queries regarding the Social Action Funding Grants can be directed to Helen Rhymes, Social Services Planning Manager, at helen.rhymes@stpete.org or by phone at 727-893-4149. All applications are required to be submitted via the Neighborly portal for consideration.

More details and the application process can be accessed at www.stpete.org/socialactionfunding.
