The City of St. Petersburg has released its Drinking Water Quality Report, aiming to provide residents with information regarding the city’s drinking water. The report is part of a routine monitoring process in line with federal and state regulations. Residents can access the report on the city’s website or request a physical copy from the Water Resources Department.

Additionally, the city is opening opportunities for local businesses by collaborating with vendors through the new OpenGov platform. “Got a local business? The City of St. Petersburg wants to work with you!” stated city officials as they encouraged vendors to participate.

St. Petersburg is also hosting Hurricane Preparedness Day on May 31 at the Willis S. Johns Recreation Center. The event includes expert tips, emergency shelter demonstrations, and supplies for hurricane kits. The public can learn more about the event details online.

In an effort to spread positivity, the “Sunshine Mind Project” is introducing “uplifting mirror stickers” at city facilities as part of Mental Health Awareness Month. This initiative aims to boost self-love and encouragement among residents.

Residents are also invited to participate in the Storm Drain Programs to help maintain local waterways. Opportunities include adopting storm drains to keep them clean and engaging in awareness activities.

For those involved in construction, the city offers services to manage waste through large roll-off trash containers, which can be rented by both commercial contractors and residents.

Artists in St. Petersburg can now apply for various grants provided by the city. These grants aim to support individual artists, large arts organizations, and small or emerging arts groups. “Whether you’re a solo painter, a performance poet, or part of a nonprofit bringing art to life—there’s grant money on the table just for YOU!” noted the announcement.

Finally, the city promotes a healthy lifestyle through the Healthy St. Pete initiative, offering a variety of fitness classes from water aerobics to tai chi.
