Cold night shelters in St. Petersburg are open on Monday, January 26, as temperatures are expected to drop below 40 degrees overnight. The Homeless Leadership Alliance has coordinated with local organizations to provide shelter for those in need. These shelters activate when the National Weather Service forecasts a “feels like” temperature below 40 degrees from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Shelters will accept guests until they reach capacity.
The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) is offering free bus rides to and from cold night shelters from 5 p.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday. Riders must inform drivers that they are traveling to a Pinellas Cold Night Shelter to ride without paying fare.
The following shelters are available for adult men and women in St. Petersburg:
– Allendale Church at 3803 Haines Rd. N (served by PSTA Route #16, #38)
