The City of St. Petersburg has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for developers interested in participating in its Affordable Lot Disposition Program. This initiative allows developers to build affordable single-family or multi-family homes on city-owned lots, targeting residents with incomes at or below 120% of the Area Median Income.

Established in 2018, the Affordable Lot Disposition Program aims to use vacant city-owned land for affordable housing development. The program facilitates agreements between the city and approved developers for constructing and selling affordable housing units on these lots. Since its inception, more than 30 affordable homes have been built, primarily within the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area (CRA).

Developers can submit their qualifications until Thursday, April 3, at 3 p.m., using the city’s online bidding system at procurement.opengov.com/portal/stpete/projects/143509. Questions regarding the RFQ or program are accepted through Wednesday, March 26, at 12 p.m., also via the online system.

Further details about registration and submission requirements are available at www.stpete.org/LotDisposition. Additional information on the city’s Community Redevelopment Area program is accessible at www.stpete.org/CRA.
