The City of St. Petersburg announced on May 28 that it will begin Pride Month with a community celebration at City Hall on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The event will include the ceremonial raising of the St. Pete Pride flag and a public pop-up celebration, both free and open to all.

Mayor Kenneth T. Welch, city officials, and members of the community are scheduled to gather for the Pride flag raising at 9 a.m. outside City Hall at 175 5th Street North. Remarks during the ceremony will be delivered by Mayor Kenneth T. Welch, Council Chair Lisset Hanewicz, and St. Pete Pride President Dr. Byron Green-Calisch.

A family-friendly pop-up event is set to take place from 8 a.m. until noon outside City Hall alongside the flag raising ceremony. Organizers said the first 400 people present will receive a limited-edition St. Pete City Pride flag to display throughout June and beyond; additional “We Are St. Pete” and “St. Pete Pride” themed items will also be distributed.

The city has encouraged residents seeking more information about upcoming Pride events or related activities to visit its official website at www.stpete.org/LGBT.
