Diocese Of St. Petersburg issued the following announcement on Dec. 09.
It's the second week of Advent--and preparing is what we're about. In the Christmas rush we may forget who or why we prepare. The Advent candles remind us that Jesus is the light of the world. Each Sunday of Advent we light another candle as we get closer and closer to Christmas - the moment Jesus brought light into our darkness.

God of Love,
Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us.
He is a sign of your love.
Help us walk in that love during the weeks of Advent,
As we wait and prepare for his coming.
