Cold night shelters in St. Pete will open on the evening of December 3, 2024, as temperatures are expected to drop below 40 degrees. The Homeless Leadership Alliance has coordinated with local shelters to provide warm and safe accommodations for those in need.

Shelters will accept guests until they reach capacity, with priority given on a first-come, first-served basis. Families with children are advised to call 2-1-1 for assistance in finding shelter options.

The available shelters include Northwest Church at 6330 54th Ave. N, operating from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Salvation Army at 1400 4th St. S, open from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; Unitarian Universalist Church at 100 Mirror Lake Dr. N, which requires the use of stairs and is open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.; and WestCare Turning Point at 1801 5th Ave. N, also open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
