Three members of the Eckerd Tritons baseball team were named to the ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-Region Teams, the organization announced on May 27. Christian Cabina received a First Team selection, while Corey Hodierne and Kam Gelwick earned Second Team honors.
Cabina, who was also an All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) First Team selection at first base, finished second on the team with a .378 batting average and led the SSC in home runs with 12. He ranked in the top ten in seven conference statistical categories, including second in slugging percentage and fifth in runs batted in (RBI). This marks Cabina’s third All-Region honor this year.
Hodierne, recognized as both an All-SSC First Team and All-Defense outfielder, led the Tritons with a .394 batting average. He recorded 10 doubles and 48 RBI, stole 36 bases on 39 attempts, and struck out only 15 times over 188 at-bats. Hodierne appeared among the top ten in nine SSC statistical categories this season, including first place for steals. This is his third All-Region recognition of 2026.
Gelwick also secured an All-SSC First Team spot as an outfielder. He led both Eckerd and the SSC with 24 doubles—a new program record for most doubles in a single season—and finished second on his team with nine home runs. Gelwick’s total of 52 RBI tied him with Cabina for most on the team; it is his second All-Region honor this year.
The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-America teams will be announced Friday, May 29; only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for these honors. The Gold Glove teams will be released June 17, followed by Region All-Defensive teams on June 18. The ABCA began recognizing its collegiate baseball All-America team in 1949 across multiple divisions; Gold Glove awards were introduced in 2007.
The Tritons participate in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports within the Sunshine State Conference and have been recognized for achievements such as induction of their historic teams into their Hall of Fame, according to the official website.
