The University of South Florida softball team will host The Fonseca Memorial Tournament at the USF Softball Stadium starting Thursday, February 12. The tournament will run through Sunday and includes teams from Indiana State, Kansas, Yale, Boston College, and DePaul. South Florida enters the tournament with a 4-3 record and will face Indiana State in their opening game.

All games featuring South Florida will be streamed on ESPN+. Head coach Ken Eriksen leads the Bulls into the tournament as they look to build on recent wins against Delaware.

Toryn Fulton received an honorable mention from the American Conference for her performance last weekend. She went 3-for-6 at bat, hit two home runs, drove in five runs, scored four times, and recorded a slugging percentage of 1.500.

In their previous matchups:
– South Florida has played Indiana State once before, winning 1-0 in March 1996.
– Against Kansas, USF leads the series 8-3 and won their last meeting earlier this year.
– Friday’s game against Yale marks the first meeting between the two programs.
– The Bulls lead Boston College in their series history with five wins out of seven meetings.
– DePaul holds a significant advantage over USF historically but lost to the Bulls in their last matchup in April 2013.

Several South Florida players are ranked among national leaders. Kathy Garcia-Soto is tied for sixth nationally with 17 assists and leads her conference. McKenna Schroding and Belle Sardja are tied for first in shutouts within the American Conference. Carley Ernst and Sardja also share top rankings for appearances.

Alexa Galligani is among NCAA leaders after being hit by pitches three times this season; she leads her conference in that category. Olivia Elliott is one of the toughest players to strike out nationally. Toryn Fulton ranks high nationally for home runs this season.

South Florida as a team is tied for fourth nationally with four triples and ranks near the top of its conference in several offensive categories including runs scored and shutouts.

Season tickets are available starting at $65. Fans can add general admission baseball season tickets for an additional $25, which provides access to all home baseball games. More information is available on the official USF athletics website or by contacting the ticket office at 1-800-Go-Bulls.

The USF softball program has appeared in 18 NCAA tournaments under head coach Ken Eriksen’s leadership since he began his tenure nearly three decades ago. In addition to reaching the Women’s College World Series in 2012, USF has produced multiple All-Americans and national award winners.
