On May 12, 2025, a wastewater discharge incident occurred in the 300 block of 53rd Ave. N. Approximately 50 gallons of wastewater were released due to a blockage caused by grease. Of this amount, about 25 gallons flowed into a nearby storm drain leading to Stormwater Canal #17 on 54th Ave. N.

Authorities responded to the incident promptly, and the site was cleaned and disinfected to mitigate any potential environmental impact.
