Catholic Diocese Of St. Petersburg issued the following announcement on Jun. 30.
We are saddened to share with you the shock and deep sorrow for the passing of Father Carl Melchior, beloved friend, brother and priest. Reverend Carl Joseph Melchior, Jr., 59, died yesterday, June 30, 2022, in Philadelphia, due to a cardiac arrest. Father Melchior was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on May 16, 2009, and most recently served as Master of Ceremonies for Bishop Parkes and Campus Chaplain for St. Petersburg Catholic High School.
Additional details and funeral arrangements will be announced once they have been made available.
