The City of St. Petersburg is currently accepting applications for its City of the Arts Grant, formerly known as the Arts and Culture Grant, with the application period set to close at 5 p.m. on June 13, 2025. The grant program aims to support nonprofit organizations focused on arts and culture, provided their budgets exceed $50,001.

Celeste Davis, Director of Arts, Culture, and Tourism for the City, emphasized the city's commitment to supporting arts organizations. "Every local arts and culture organization deserves the opportunity to flourish in our City of the Arts," Davis stated. "We are excited to level the playing field by allowing all eligible organizations to be eligible for up to $20,000 in grant funding. As St. Pete continues to be a renowned arts destination, it is essential for the City to support non-profits that enrich our community and elevate our quality of life."

The eligibility criteria for the grant includes being registered with the Florida Secretary of State as a nonprofit organization and being tax-exempt under the 501(c)3 status, with a primary mission focused on arts or culture programming. Organizations must have been operational and providing services in the city for at least one year, have no outstanding debts to the city, and have operations exceeding $50,001 for the most recently completed fiscal year.

Organizations applying for the grant are eligible for funding up to $20,000 based on the quality of their programming or specific cultural projects submitted. Unlike reimbursement-based funding, the grant funds will be accessible post-execution of the agreement. The funded activities are scheduled to commence between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.

To aid prospective applicants, the city is hosting two workshops in April and May. Additionally, updated budget worksheets and a scoring rubric have been provided. Further information and application details are available at www.stpete.org/artsgrants, with the application process concluding on the aforementioned date in June.
