The City of St. Petersburg is organizing an event titled "Together, St. Pete: Hurricane Recovery and Resources Meeting" to assist the community in recovering from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Coliseum, located at 535 4th Ave. N. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for either in-person or virtual attendance via a provided registration link.
Mayor Kenneth T. Welch will be present alongside city leadership and representatives from various organizations including the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), Florida Division of Emergency Management, and Pinellas County. They will discuss financial assistance options, recovery resources, supports available, and details on permitting and rebuilding processes such as the City's 49% Rule.
This event aims to offer St. Petersburg residents a platform to provide feedback on current efforts, identify areas needing improvement, and suggest strategies for future resilience against similar catastrophic events.
Feedback gathered during this meeting could influence future discussions led by other community organizations and contribute to developing a collaborative approach toward enhancing community preparedness.
Resource tables with representatives from the City of St. Petersburg, FEMA, and other local organizations will be available starting at 5 p.m., followed by a program that begins at 6 p.m., which includes a Q&A session.
Further information about ongoing recovery efforts can be accessed through the city's website at stpete.org/recovery.
