The City of St. Petersburg is currently evaluating wastewater discharges following the storm surge caused by Hurricane Helene. An incident has been reported at a private lift station, where approximately 400 gallons of wastewater were discharged due to a power outage. This discharge occurred at San Carlos & Caya Costa Ave NE and entered nearby storm drains leading to Lake Caya Costa. City crews are actively working in the area to prevent any further discharge.
