Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Fit City 5K and 1-Mile Walk, scheduled to take place in downtown St. Petersburg on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The event, organized by Healthy St. Pete, a division of the St. Pete Parks and Recreation Department, will feature a "Glow in the Park" theme with activities starting at 5 p.m. in Vinoy Park.

The Fit City initiative aims to promote health and wellness within the community by encouraging residents to engage in more active lifestyles. Attendees will have access to information about health and wellness opportunities from various community vendors.

Participants who register for the 5K race by January 5, 2025, will receive a free T-shirt, race bib, medal, and glow kit. Online registration is available at HealthyStPeteFL.com.

The registration fees are as follows: $30 for the 5K race until January 31 at 11:59 p.m., with day-of registration costing $35 if spots remain available; $15 for the 1-mile walk with day-of registration priced at $20 based on availability.

Limited scholarships are offered for those interested in participating in the race. For further details regarding scholarships or other inquiries, Meagan Young can be contacted via email at meagan.young@stpete.org.

Healthy St. Pete was established as part of an initiative by the City of St. Petersburg through its Parks and Recreation Department to foster a culture of health across the city. It focuses on improving health outcomes and reducing disparities while promoting healthy lifestyle choices through innovative programs and collaborations within the community.
