The City of St. Petersburg is currently seeking residents to fill vacancies on several boards and committees. These groups play crucial roles in various aspects of city governance and community development.

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee focuses on reviewing potential new incentive strategies and assessing the implementation of previously adopted strategies to promote affordable housing while ensuring property value appreciation.

"The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) advises the St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) on the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Plan and any amendments thereto as well as other issues and policies pertaining to the CRA."

The City Beautiful Commission aims to enhance and protect the beauty of natural resources and city landscapes, thereby improving the quality of life for residents. Members are encouraged to actively engage in decision-making processes.

The Nuisance Abatement Board addresses cases involving properties allegedly used for illegal activities, contributing to crime reduction and enhancing safety by urging property owners to prevent nuisance activities.

"The mission of the Public Arts Commission is to expand public experience and exposure to culture through various art forms, enhance the appearance of public facilities, improve the aesthetic environment of the city on behalf of its citizens, and provide for the incorporation of art in the design and construction of public facilities within the city."

Lastly, the Social Services Allocation Committee works towards promoting health, economic stability, and social well-being among residents by reviewing applications for Social Action Funding Grants and advising City Council on funding allocations.
