St. Pete Standard

The City of St. Petersburg is transitioning from disaster recovery to normal services following the impact of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The Temporary Debris Management Site at Raytheon, located at 1953 72nd St. N, will close to the public on December 22 at 5:30 p.m. Residents can drop off storm-related debris without charge until then, with operating hours from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Residents using private companies for debris removal must complete a Consent Form available at stpete.org/Debris. Although the site will no longer be open to the public after December 22, city contractors will continue using it for debris management until all citywide pickups are completed.

City Brush Sites resumed normal operations on December 16 and are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Locations include:

- 1000 62nd Ave. NE

- 7750 26th Ave. N

- 2500 26th Ave. S

- 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St. S

- 2453 20th Ave. N

Starting December 23, the City will accept requests for Special Pickups of non-storm related large or excess items, while hurricane debris collection continues through citywide sweeps by contractors.

Items eligible for free pickup include:

- Car batteries (up to five)

- Car tires (up to five)

- Doors (up to two)

- Empty fuel tanks (up to two)

- Furniture, carpet, and appliances (up to three cubic yards)

- Kitchen cabinets (up to two)

- Windows (up to two)

For other items like large waste quantities or building materials, there is a fee of $22.67 per cubic yard.
