The City of St. Petersburg has announced a citywide collection of live Christmas trees from January 11 to February 10, 2025. Residents are required to place their trees outside by 7 a.m. on January 11 at their usual trash collection spots. The city emphasizes that only live trees will be collected during this period.
Residents are instructed to remove all decorations, including lights, ornaments, and tree stands before placing the tree out for collection. The city advises against placing any accessories in recycling bins and encourages reusing or donating them instead.
For those who miss the initial collection window, a Special Pickup can be requested after February 10 via stpete.org/SpecialPickUp or through the SeeClickFix app. Alternatively, residents can drop off their trees at designated brush sites across the city with proof of residency.
Artificial Christmas trees should either be placed in the city's trash bin if they fit or disposed of through a Special Pickup request.
