The City of St. Petersburg has announced a continued traffic disruption at the intersection of 5th Ave. N and 16th St. N due to infrastructure repairs. The closure affects eastbound and westbound lanes on 5th Ave. N, as well as the northbound lane on 16th St. N.

This interruption is caused by a water main leak from the City of St. Petersburg and a stormwater pipe replacement being conducted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). While repairs to the city's water pipe have been completed, FDOT's work on replacing the stormwater pipe is ongoing.

The city expects that FDOT will complete their work and reopen the road by Friday, January 31, or sooner if possible. During this period, there may be temporary closures of the southbound lane on 16th St. N at its intersection with 5th Ave. N to facilitate FDOT's efforts.

Residents and commuters are advised to find alternative routes and remain cautious when traveling in nearby areas. The city will provide updates on repair progress and road status as they become available.
