The City of St. Petersburg's Office of Supplier Diversity is set to host two events aimed at educating and informing local business owners on women entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability.
"Blooming Business: Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs" will take place at Sunken Gardens, located at 1825 4th St. N, on Wednesday, March 26, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The event focuses on celebrating, connecting, and empowering women entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals. Participants will have the chance to network, engage in "table talk roundups," and listen to a keynote speaker who will share her business journey. Exhibition space is available for businesses to display their products and services. Breakfast will be provided for attendees.
Additionally, the city introduces CREST—a new initiative aimed at enhancing urban sustainability while reducing flooding through green solutions. Supported by the National League of Cities Economic Mobility Grant, this program targets small and underutilized businesses for developing green infrastructure projects like permeable pavements and rain gardens. Successful participants will earn a Clean Water Certification from the Center for Watershed Protection valued at $750 and gain unlimited membership to its association worth $2500.
