The City of St. Petersburg has announced the launch of its Individual Artist Grant Program, aimed at providing operational support to professional artists within the city. Up to 40 local artists will each receive $5,000 grants, with a total of up to $200,000 in funding available for various artistic disciplines.

Celeste Davis, the Director of Arts, Culture, and Tourism for the City of St. Petersburg, stated, "I am thrilled to announce the launch of St. Pete’s new Individual Artist Grants. These grants support individual professional artists with financial assistance while demonstrating the City’s commitment to fostering creativity, arts business growth, and positive impacts in the Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Performing Arts, Music, Theater, Dance, and more. We believe in nurturing the creativity of local artists and empowering them to make a lasting impact on our community."

To be eligible, artists must be working professionals residing or working in St. Pete, with plans to continue post-grant period. A professional artist is defined as someone with a recognized body of work maintained over time and who pursues this work as a livelihood.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The grants will cover general allowable expenses during the fiscal year, with a grant award period running from June 1 to September 30, 2025. All expenditures must occur within this timeframe. Public reviews and scoring of grant applications will be held on June 18 and July 7, from 10 a.m. to noon, with attendance open to applicants and the public.

Further details and application forms are available at www.stpete.org/individualartistgrant, with a deadline of May 31, 2025.
