City of St. Petersburg issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
Join the St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department and the Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve for a fiercely fun day celebrating birds of prey at Raptor Fest on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, 1101 Country Club Way S.
See trained raptors in free flight and environmental exhibits while enjoying activities for children and families, bird walks and much more. Don’t forget to grab a photo with live birds of prey. For more information on activities, visit raptorfest.org .
Raptor Fest is an opportunity to raise awareness about the Birds of Prey Program at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. The program provides permanently injured, non-releasable birds of prey a safe, healthy environment who are cared for by volunteers and preserve staff.
