Clearview Adult Education Center issued the following announcement on Sep. 08.
Butsakorn Chalungsooth - one of our most hard-working and dedicated ESOL students - just became a US citizen.
Congratulations, Butsakorn! I am very proud of you and happy to share the special feeling that comes with finally belonging to your new country. When I talked to Butsakorn (also known as Tim), she said that the naturalization process had taken her more than one and a half years (she applied in Dec 2019), and after the Naturalization Ceremony a few days ago she feels as if "a mountain has been taken off of her heart". She had been studying, practicing the civics questions regularly, feeling worried about the documentation, and restricted in her freedom to travel. Now she is proud and happy being a true part of her dream country. When asked about advice she would give other students who are considering naturalization, she says, "Practice, but do not worry. All the immigration officers are friendly, and you will be fine."
Tim has a large collection of very exquisite earrings, and, in both photos, she is wearing very special ones. I would call them 'New American Citizen earrings' - with the US flag and Statue of Liberty.
We are proud of you, Tim! Good luck with obtaining your US passport and freedom to travel!
