City Of Treasure Island issued the following announcement on Dec. 09.
Yarrrr! Under a Gasparilla Bowl flag we sail and the city of Treasure Island shall be our empire!
The UCF Knights and Florida Gators football players, coaches, fans and their marching bands will invade Treasure Island on Dec. 21 for the ESPN Events Union Home Mortgage Corp. Gasparilla Bowl Beach Invasion.
The invasion will kick off with a parade down 107th Avenue, followed by team competitions, a variety of games, activities along with several food vendors for everyone to enjoy.
