City Of St. Petersburg issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.
At Demens Landing, there’s currently a memorial honoring the 15 police officers who have died in the line of duty. Yesterday, we broke ground on the Heroes of the St. Pete Police and Fire Memorial, which will honor the 15 police officers and 4 firefighters who have died while protecting our community. Our hope is to never have those numbers increase.
