City Of St. Pete Beach issued the following announcement on Mar. 16.

St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue held the Annual Water Safety Event today and it was a huge success with distribution of life saving tips and tools throughout.

We also had a special guest, Pete the Safety Pelican.

Pete the Safety Pelican is an initiative being developed by a group of dedicated residents of St. Pete Beach to help spread the word to our community, locals and visitors alike, regarding pedestrian safety and the importance of using a cross walk while crossing Gulf Blvd.
