St. Petersburg, FL - After announcing details of the Cross Bay Ferry's new connection in St. Petersburg, the City is excited to share that the Downtown Looper will be adding a new stop on its route to service Ferry riders and others in the Innovation District. The seventh seasonal Ferry service between downtown Tampa and a new docking location in downtown St. Pete commenced service on October 15.
Beginning today through June, the Downtown Looper will include a stop at the Port St. Pete, 250 8th Ave SE, after 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and all day Friday-Sunday. This enhancement provides a much closer trolley stop to the Ferry dock, making it convenient for passengers to explore hundreds of downtown destinations within walking distance of the Looper's 19 other stops. Additionally, riders will be able to rent Lime E-bikes and Veo E-scooters if they don’t bring their own bikes aboard the Ferry. Local destinations/connections within walking distance of the Port include: USF St. Petersburg’s Campus Grind, Tavern at Bayboro, Hangar Restaurant at Albert Whitted Airport, Dali Museum, Mahaffey Theater, Albert Whitted Park and Playground, and the USF SunRunner Bus Rapid Transit Station.
