St. Pete's open-streets style Halloween on Central event returns this weekend! On Sunday, Oct. 29, a portion of Central Avenue will be transformed into the ultimate Halloween block party, where locals are encouraged to enjoy a car-free environment and walk, bike or skate along the festivities.
Here are some helpful tips and tricks for traffic, getting there, and parking for Sunday:
Traffic + Lane Closures
- Central Avenue between Dr. MLK, Jr. St. and 31st St. will be closed to motor vehicle traffic beginning at 6 a.m. on Sunday. The street will reopen to regular traffic by 8 p.m.
- The SunRunner will offer free rides all day (Sunday, Oct. 29). Route information can be found at psta.net/sunrunner
- Attendees may use scooters, bikes, and skateboards to commute to this event and along the event route. There will be a bicycle parking hub at 18th St. and Central Ave.
- Safety note: wheeled riders will be asked to observe a 5 mph maximum speed within the event zone.
- Big news: as a sponsor of the event, the Rays are offering FREE parking in all Tropicana Field Parking Lots. Thousands of spots are available, so make sure to check there first!
- Please be courteous of your fellow residents if you park in surrounding neighborhoods.
