July 17, 2024 - At Thursday's St. Petersburg City Council Meeting, the council will vote on several items related to the Historic Gas Plant District Redevelopment. Following this meeting, the County Commission is scheduled to hold the final vote on stadium-related agreements in the coming weeks.

The meeting is set for Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Petersburg City Hall, Council Chambers, located at 175 5th St. N. The attendees will include members of the St. Petersburg City Council, Mayor Kenneth T. Welch, representatives from the Tampa Bay Rays, and Hines Representatives.

City Council will address multiple items concerning the Historic Gas Plant Redevelopment and Stadium Project:

- A resolution for twelve agreements that provide the framework necessary to redevelop the current Tropicana Field site. This includes ensuring continued operations of the Tampa Bay Rays and approximately $6.5 billion in new development aimed at significant job creation and community benefits.

- An ordinance adopting amendments to Intown Redevelopment Plan to increase its budget to fund both the New Stadium Project and infrastructure for Historic Gas Plant Redevelopment.

- An ordinance approving a Development Agreement specifically for the Historic Gas Plant District Redevelopment.

- Two resolutions authorizing bond issuance to finance project costs associated with A) the New Stadium project and B) required infrastructure for Historic Gas Plant District Redevelopment Plan. These resolutions also confirm special legal counsel appointments for related services.

- A resolution acknowledging Skanksa USA Building Inc.'s selection for construction services tied to both the redevelopment project and new Tampa Bay Rays stadium.

The public can attend these meetings; however, seating within Council Chambers is limited with overflow seating available in Room 100. The public is encouraged to watch live broadcasts on SPTV via www.stpete.org/tv or channels 641 (Spectrum), 15 (WOW), and 20 (Frontier).
