St. Petersburg is set to host its open-streets style Halloween on Central event this Sunday, October 27. The event will see a section of Central Avenue transformed into a car-free zone, encouraging locals to walk, bike, or skate as they participate in the festivities.

Residents are urged to prioritize safety by attending Halloween on Central or joining local community block parties amid ongoing debris cleanup efforts in several neighborhoods.

Central Avenue between Dr. MLK Jr. Street and 31st Street will be closed to motor vehicles from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday. To facilitate access, the SunRunner will provide free rides throughout the day, with route details available at psta.net/sunrunner. Additionally, PSTA's Fare Free Program continues through Monday, October 28th, offering fare-free travel across all routes as part of hurricane relief efforts in Pinellas County.

Event attendees can use scooters, bikes, and skateboards for commuting along the event route, with a designated bicycle parking hub located at 18th Street and Central Avenue. Participants using wheeled transportation are reminded to adhere to a maximum speed limit of 5 mph within the event area.

In support of the event, the Rays are providing free parking in all Tropicana Field Parking Lots, which offer thousands of spaces for attendees' convenience.

The public is encouraged to respect neighborhood residents when parking nearby and to enjoy a safe and festive Halloween celebration.
