The City of St. Petersburg is inviting residents to apply for open positions on various boards and committees. These groups play a significant role in advising the city and shaping policies in different areas.

The Advisory Commission on Aging, with one vacancy, focuses on advocating for programs that enhance the quality of life for the city's aging population. Its mission includes ensuring seniors have access to necessary services and resources.

The Arts Advisory Committee (AAC) has two openings. The AAC aims to support artistic and cultural activities within St. Petersburg, promoting diverse expressions while preserving multicultural aspects of art and culture.

Two vacancies are available on the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board, which was established as part of the 2003 CityTrails program. Members contribute to discussions impacting transportation systems and infrastructure development.

The Code Enforcement Board seeks two new members to participate in hearings regarding city code violations. This board is responsible for issuing findings and conclusions based on case hearings each month.

One position is open on the Community Planning & Preservation Commission (CPPC), which deals with land use planning, zoning maps, and historic preservation decisions. Volunteers with expertise in related fields are encouraged to apply.

In September, there will be an opening on the Development Review Commission (DRC). This body reviews proposed changes to Land Development Regulations under local government comprehensive planning acts.

A single vacancy exists on the Nuisance Abatement Board, which addresses properties involved in illegal activities, aiming to reduce crime by encouraging property owners' accountability.

Lastly, the Public Arts Commission needs one more member to help expand public exposure to culture through art forms integrated into public facilities’ design and construction.
