City Of St. Pete Beach issued the following announcement on Aug. 27.
Friendly reminder: Black Skimmer nesting seasons runs from May through early September, so please continue to be on the lookout for this threatened species. Keep your distance and do not disturb these birds under any circumstances, as they are protected by State law.
