St. Petersburg residents are invited to participate in a variety of community events and initiatives this summer, as detailed in the June 2024 edition of St. Pete Extra.

The St. Pete Pier will host "The Fourth" on July 4th, featuring patriotic festivities and fireworks. Early risers can also join the 2024 Pier Run that morning, with registration details available at stpeterunfest.org/st-pete-pier-run.

To mitigate environmental issues caused by increased rainfall, residents are encouraged to adhere to the fertilizer ban from June 1 to September 30. More information is available at stpete.org/Fertilizer.

As hurricane season begins, officials urge residents to prepare by knowing their evacuation zones and having necessary supplies. Resources and tips for flooding preparedness can be found at stpete.org/Hurricane.

In response to below-normal rainfall, water restrictions have been adjusted across Pinellas County. Residents should check their watering schedules and related information at stpete.org/WaterRestrictions.

On July 27th, Midtown Academy will host Servant Leader’s Day, an event where businesses and civil servants share resources with the community. Event details are provided at stpete.org/Events.

Year-round sandbag availability is emphasized for storm preparation. Sandbags can be picked up Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building located at 1744 9th Ave N., with more information available at stpete.org/Sandbags.

For waste management guidance, residents can use the Waste Wizard tool available on the St. Pete Collects app or at stpete.org/Collect.

Residents preferring digital access to St. Pete Extra can subscribe to receive it via email each month by signing up at stpete.org/StPeteExtra.
