The City of St. Petersburg is addressing a significant water main break that will affect potable water services citywide. In response to the situation, the city will shut off drinking water service starting at midnight on October 9, 2024.

Residents and businesses are advised to prepare for this temporary shutdown, which will remain in effect until repairs can be completed safely. Some areas may already experience low water pressure or interruptions in service.

A boil water notice has been issued for all potable water intended for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth until further notice. After restoring the system, additional testing will ensure the safety of the water before lifting the boil water notice.

The city assures residents that once conditions permit, crews will work continuously to resolve the issue. Updates will be communicated via the city's website, emergency alerts, and social media channels.
