The City of St. Petersburg is offering additional opportunities for residents to collect sandbags during non-emergency periods. This initiative aims to help the community prepare for storms throughout the year by providing sandbags on a more accessible schedule.
Sandbags will be available at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building, located at 1744 9th Ave. N., on the second Saturday of each month. The next distribution event is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
These extended hours are intended to enhance accessibility and equity, allowing more residents of St. Pete to obtain sandbags outside of regular working days. Typically, sandbag distribution takes place Monday through Friday and on the second Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with this schedule remaining in effect until further notice.
Residents can receive up to ten sandbags per household upon presenting proof of residency in St. Pete. Assistance will be available for seniors and others who may need help filling and loading their sandbags.
For more information about sandbag distribution hours and updates, residents are encouraged to visit stpete.org/Sandbags.
